We leave you with a text written by the author and a photo gallery of the inauguration: There are times in life when we are dealt a blow. Sooner or later we all suffer that moment in which reality hits you and, if you are not prepared, it annuls you, disintegrates you. It causes a pain that lodges in the abyssal plains of ourselves that stays with us for life. When you meet people who have been touched by that pain and, even with it, they return a smile of total selflessness, that is admirable. It is the moment that I want to represent in some paintings, that look. That despite all the suffering there is a point of light, a glimmer of hope. To have that fortitude to go for it until whatever kills us stops us. I cannot escape that “grief”, it is immanent to my style. Grief, melancholy, that is, tragedy, the unpredictable, are themes that attract me as a form of disappointment in life. I give them the value they possess; the obligatory path towards maturity in the face of a reality that crushes you if you are not prepared. With people, the person portrayed is a being that shows the rawness of his life, but not in a sobering way. That art should largely be intended to dignify the humble is a theme that overwhelms me and that I have captured in many works. My work is not the comic version of characters gripped by apathy. They are people portrayed at their worst who, however, and despite all the pain and suffering, can move forward, overcome the comedy, overcome the tragedy and survive in a world where life, sooner or later, is serious. www.aglutinart.blogspot.com
